Why Our Color Correction Is Different: No Bleach, No Harsh Chemicals
Most salons fix bad color with more of what caused it — aggressive lightener and ammonia. That route can technically change the color, but it leaves hair fried, and fried hair can’t hold the beautiful result you came for.
Tomy developed his own color line specifically to avoid that trap: Italian pure-pigment formulas, free of ammonia, PPD, and PTD, that correct color while protecting the hair underneath. The correction and the condition of your hair get treated as one job — because a “fixed” color on damaged hair isn’t a fix.

How the Correction Process Works
Step 1 — Free Consultation & Honest Assessment
Tomy or a senior colorist examines your hair’s condition and full color history — every color that’s ever touched your hair is still a factor, even from years ago. You get an honest read on what’s achievable, in how many visits, and what it will cost. No surprises in the chair.
Step 2 — A Correction Plan, Not a Cover-Up
Covering a mistake with darker color is easy — and it’s usually another mistake. A real correction plan works out the underlying pigments, what needs to be removed, filled, or neutralized, and in what order. This is chemistry plus 25 years of experience.
Step 3 — Gentle Correction with Pure Pigments
The correction itself, using the no-ammonia Italian color line. Some corrections finish in one visit; severe cases (like black box dye to blonde) are staged over two or three visits to protect your hair — and we’ll tell you that upfront at the consultation, not after.
Step 4 — Strengthen and Protect the Result
Corrected hair keeps its color longer when it’s healthy. Most corrections finish with a collagen or lipid strengthening treatment, plus a plan to keep the tone true between visits.
What Does Color Correction Cost?
Honestly: it depends on what we find. A simple toning correction is a different job than reversing years of box dye. Base single-process color starts at $200; corrections are quoted individually at your free consultation, after we’ve actually looked at your hair — with the full price and number of visits agreed before any work begins.

Can you fix box dye?
Yes — box-dye corrections are one of the most common jobs we do. Box dye tends to grab darker and more opaque than salon color, and it builds up with repeated use. Depending on how many layers are on the hair, the correction may be staged across visits to protect your hair.
How long does a color correction take?
Plan for 2–5 hours for a single-visit correction. Severe corrections are sometimes split across two or three visits several weeks apart — pushing hair too far in one day is how it breaks, and we won’t do it.
Will the correction damage my hair?
Our whole approach exists to avoid that. We work with ammonia-free, PPD-free pure-pigment color rather than heavy bleach, we stage aggressive corrections rather than forcing them, and we finish with strengthening treatments. Your hair should leave healthier-looking than it arrived — not just a different color.
Can I go from dark box dye to blonde in one visit?
Usually not, and anyone who promises it isn’t being straight with you. Dark artificial pigment has to be lifted gradually to keep hair intact. We’ll show you the realistic path — including what your hair will look like at each stage.
