Why some hair needs repair first
Hair that has been bleached, feels dry, breaks off, or keeps turning red often can't hold new color well. So before the color, it gets what it's missing.
For dry hair. Puts back the lipids, so the hair feels soft again and takes color better.$150
For hair that breaks. Puts protein back, so it bends instead of snapping.$380

Why the second box makes it worse
Colored hair doesn't behave like untouched hair. Put a new color over a failed one and the pigments stack — that's how "a little too dark" becomes flat black, and how brassy turns muddy. Color on top of color has to come out in the right order.
